Love Unspoken

Chapter_1
In the evening, Quinn Mellon prepared a table full of delicious dishes, waiting for her husband to come home for dinner. However, by one in the morning, her husband still hadn’t returned. The clock on the wall kept ticking, silently narrating the long night.
The food on the table had long gone cold, much like Quinn’s heart. With a soft sigh, she gathered the dishes and stored them in the kitchen, patiently reheating them, trying to retain a hint of warmth.
At that moment, the sound of the door opening echoed, and Quinn quickly turned around. There stood a man in a suit, tall and handsome, walking in. He had been drinking, stumbling a bit, but there was something in his slightly intoxicated state that made him even more charismatic.
This handsome, slightly drunk man was none other than Quinn’s husband, Alexander Kennedy.
Seeing her husband return, Quinn quickly got up to greet him. She had prepared a hangover remedy for Alexander, but just as she passed it to him, he clumsily knocked it over, spilling it all on the floor. Before Quinn could react, Alexander was by her side, grabbing her chin and kissing her passionately.
After a brief moment, Alexander picked Quinn up and headed towards the bedroom.
It was clear Alexander was looking for comfort, but his actions were driven more by his own desires than by affection for her. Quinn was gently laid on the bed, and before she could get up, Alexander’s weight pressed down on her, making it impossible for her to move.
She felt trapped—not by physical force, but by the weight of their unspoken emotions. Alexander’s passion was evident, but Quinn felt a wave of confusion and loneliness as she lay there.
Seeing Quinn’s silence, Alexander paused for a moment and asked in a low voice, “Why don’t you speak?”
Tears glistened in Quinn’s eyes. She couldn’t answer that question. Being mute, she was often left in the background of their relationship, unable to express herself as others could.
Why did Alexander ask such a question, knowing her condition? Was it intentional? Or was there something deeper, something unspoken?
Quinn didn’t know what Alexander was thinking. All she knew was that she had to find a way to navigate the silent barriers between them, even when her body betrayed her ability to speak.
